Zaid Bin Ahmed Al Jarbaa, Operations Manager at Saudi Exchange of Information "Tabadu," said that the unified electronic window "FASAH platform" provides 45 electronic services for customs clearance agents, shipping agents, importers, and exporters. For example, it provides e-services such as the import, export, transit and import statistics, as well as other services in modifying letters, archive documents and inquiring about irregularities.

This came during a workshop organized by Asharqia Chamber in cooperation with the General Authority for Investment, the Saudi General Authority for Customs, and Tabadul, on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Chamber's headquarter in Dammam.

Al-Jarbaa pointed out that the FASAH platform aims to automate import and export procedures and logistics systems under one platform and to link the relevant parties to facilitate trade, import, and export movements as well as to make the Kingdom a global logistics platform in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.

Al-Jarbaa explained that FASAH is a single platform that enables importers, exporters, and customs clearance agents to submit data and commercial documents related to import and export electronically, in addition to the completion of the procedures without the need to review the clearing houses, which expedite the procedures for clearance of goods. He pointed out that the platform is currently linked to the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, the SFDA, the private laboratories, United Ataraxy as well as government agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture. It also related to the shipping agents, airfreight forwarders, port operators, and car dealers, which facilitate and accelerate the commercial operations of importers and exporters.

Regarding the main aspects of FASAH, Al-Jarbaa said that it includes customs services and business services, which include port management services from ship arrival to departure, as well as the management system of the ports community and the services of interconnection and integration in various entities.

He pointed to the presence of seven beneficiaries of FASAH platform as follows, importers and exporters, custom clearance agents, operators, freight forwarders, car dealerships, private laboratories, and government agencies.

Al-Jarbaa explained in detail the registration process of the importers or exporters, detailing the electronic delegation service of the custom clearance agents, the service of adding an imported number within the new port, the service of the request for the establishment of a customs declaration, and the service of acknowledgment of non-action and follow-up differences and many other services provided by the platform to its beneficiaries.

As for the services to be implemented in the future, Al-Jarbaa said that there is a unified portal for expositions and exemptions, which will enable importer or exporter to request customs clearance and exemptions by all government agencies issuing the exemption or the clearance to link them with the customs declaration.
